A crawl space that is not properly insulated can be big trouble. It can lead to foundation issues problems with mold and all sorts of excessive moisture to the point where the crawl space could potentially flood. Do I Need A Vapor Barrier With Spray Foam?
 
This is one of the very first questions that people have one they are exploring this option for their crawl space. In most areas, it is not required that you have a vapor barrier. It is something that can be added for some extra protection if that is what you are looking for. If the idea of using this type of insulation is to save time and money we can help you with that. Spray Foam Has Fixed Its Moisture Issues   
 
The main concern that people used to point to with this type of insulation was the fact that it trapped water so it was possible to have more moisture issues. We have addressed this issue in another area of the site, but since some of you may not have seen it we are going to talk about it again. Simply put, this generation’s spray foam has actually fixed the moisture issue so it should not be something that you have to worry about.
 
You Won’t Have To Deal With Mold 
 
Without a doubt, just the idea of having mold anywhere in your house is something that makes people uncomfortable. To the point where people would rather not even know that they have mold rather than checking if they do. With foam, you are not going to have that problem. The consistency of foam is not going to be one that allows mold to develop. This is not like other types of insulation that people say won’t get moldy and you take it out and you see that it was all a lie. Just on this idea alone foam is a great idea.
 
It Is A Long Term Investment  
 
The main reason that we don’t see more people turning to foam is the price tag. There is no way around that. We know that it can seem a bit more expensive than other methods. If you really look at it though we are talking about a long term investment. In a couple of years, any other type of insulation can start developing problems. Foam, when installed correctly, will allow you not to have to worry about it all!
